I own a 1978 Hunter 30, but I don't know (without pulling the boat out of the water), how to determine the draft. I understand that there is a shoal and a "normal" draft, but how do you tell? Is there something in the serial number or a way to contact Hunter to find out the boats draft. I am trying to sell the boat and need this info to answer a prospects question. My e-mail is twods@att.net if you can help. Doug

Jump in the water?

Not sure if the different keel depths are apparent anywhere over the water line. Obviously if you have a depth sounder you can run aground (in sand or soft dirt) to determine. The difference between 4 feet and 5 1/2 feet should be quite obvious. Otherwise jump in with a mask. Again, the different depths will have decidely different appearances under water. Ours is the 4-foot draft, BTW.
