Am only trying to ask but this one single question to determine how to define boat sizings! What I wish to find out is the exact difference between a sloop, and a skiff and all the sizes related to sail boating so that upon purchasing of one in the very near future, I'd knwo exactly what I am receiving prior to going to look! Thankfully yours whomsoever responds so that I'd know who to offer my thanks to them out there by use of this means, since traveling of the seven seas awaits, am I not right to suggest that, or as usual am I yet wrong once again here to be sure too that is, but either way, trust me, I yet still wish to know what the sizes are!

Well your trying to compare apples and oranges rather than size. A skiff is typically a small flat-bottomed open boat with a pointed bow and square stern. They can be either powered with an outboard or sail. They can also be sloop rigged. Sloops has one mast a head sail or jib and a mainsail, usually called a Marconi rig. There are cutter rigs, Yawls, ketches and on and on. The only difference is the number of sails or masts the vessel carries. To confuse the matter even more is you can throw combinations together. The size of the boat or length doesn't matter. From 1 to 50000 ft in length. The only way to tell the size of a boat is LOA (length overall) beam (width of the boat). How well a given boat sails is another story. I hope this helps you if not please clarify you question a bit. Fair Winds Cap'n Dave
