Call a local sailmaker

Find one who will listen to your objectives, and recommend a sail. Any national sailmaking outfit has a file on your boat. The Doyle loft on this site is a great place to start. A a great place to buy a sail if you don't want or need a personal advisor. I've got a Doyle Asymetrical on our '77 h27, and we love it. It drops the time we spend on the engine by about 20% while cruising the lake. Do get a dousing sock. This really makes setting and dousing the sail straightforward. Enjoy your new sail. Check the chandlery here

You can preview colors online and the prices are just among the best you'll find for custom cruising chutes, espcially this time of year. ph.

Make your own

Make your own. I made one for my 35 and I love it. Last year I completely blew away a C&C40 and a brand new Catalina 38 in about 8 knots of wind. I bought the kit from sailrite. You can get a quote on line. The fabric is so thin that you can use a regular sewing machine. Lots of satisfaction in doing it yourself, at least most of the labor part. Dave

I bought one from......

.....Cruisingdirect.com........ go to the link below for sizing and price information. Or call their toll free number and they'll give you the info for your boat.. I'm very happy with mine, I use it quite a bit in the light airs of San Diego. For my Cat 27 the sail and dousing sock was about $800 with shipping. You'd probably need the next size down, which would put it in the $600 range. If you buy the stock sizes they ship right away, you'll have in within a week. If you want a custom size I'll take a lot longer and cost a lot more.
