Hi all, We have been talking Renault's US distributor about carrying Renault parts in the HOW store. They would like us to do that. The first step is to determine which parts are needed, and for which engines. If you have a moment, could you please post the following information here: 1. Your Hunter model and the Renault engine model. 2. Parts you have needed, and those you expect to need again. A description at minimum, and a part number if you can. Thanks! With a comprehensive list we will soon have Renault parts just a point and click away!

Stil think..........

That we should develop a list of "local" subsitute engine parts such as NAPA or? HOW site is fine but some things are cheeper and faster localy.

I disagree on local-sourcing all parts. I hate spending money as much as the next guy, but if we don't support the R. depot, they're going to go do something else. I don't like being dependent on one parts source, and would like to have a list of alternate parts just in case, but I'll buy from them first. As for parts: Impellors Belts Injectors Injector pumps Alternators Gauges and senders Transmission rebuild kits And perhaps subcontracting with a diesel engine rebuilder for discounts on rebuilding engines in exchange for an exclusive endorsement.

Renault parts availability

I have had a nightmare for a year trying to get parts for my engine from Texas, we finally had a part tooled so we could complete the repair. I was going to sell the boat because we could not get parts! We will send you information next week after I pick up the manuals from the boat yard. Please let me know if I can be of any assistance for you to get the rights to sell parts for Renault.

Renault Parts

I have a Renault RC8D diesel and am in need of an impeller. Don't have a Hunter. My boat is a Seaforth which also had the Renault. I know several other Seaforth owners that are looking for parts and it might be beneficial to your efforts to include us. Is anyone aware of another impeller that would work in the RC8D. Your help would be appreciaed. Thanks.

Another RC8D

I had trouble getting an exhaust bend last summer from Texas. I ended up welding one together from pipe fittings. The only thing I need right now are oil filters and spare impellars.

RC8 D

My 1980 Hunter 27 has a Renault RC8D. I need gaskets, impellers, etc., too. My transmission is leaking around one gasket and at the shaft. Is there a shaft seal? I tried to call the Texas parts supplier but the number has been disconnected. The fax number still works, though. I sent him an "are you there?" fax, but so far no response. If he's out of business, a new U.S. source for parts is definitely needed!

Looking For Rebuild Kit

I'm now looking for a rebuild kit for a Renault Diesel which was original equipment in my 1980 27' . I also tried the number in Texas and got the same result.

What is the status of this initiative? There are a lot of us using our boats and looking for parts to keep them running.

got as much info as we'll get

So now it's time to take the input back to the Renault folks. since we've never sold engine parts and the distributor has never sold through the web I doubt if this will be a quick process. If I were to guess I'd say maybe a month out, but I could be wrong. We'll do our best to get this online during the summer, when you need it.
