I am having my running rigging replaced. The rigger needs to remove the triple spinlock clutches on both sides of the companionway but is having trouble doing this as he has to access it from the salon and cannot figure out how to remove the headliner in the salon. Can anyone explain how to remove the headliner on a Hunter 33 sailboat? Thank you.

I have a 33.5 older than your 33 I imagine however in my cabin there are squares held in with 4 small screws directly beneath the areas where deck hardware rope clutches, cabin top winches etc are placed. Sometimes these squares have lights in them but removing them will reveal the undersides of the cabin top. Also where my rope clutches are was an extra piece of aluminum plate which I tapped into and screwed the clutches into- you might want try that as well

I have a very different Hunter than you but on mine... all deck hardward is secured into an embedded aluminum plate that has been threaded. So if your's is like mine, you just need to back the bolts out.

Someone here will know....
