how old is my boat

i have two catalina's and would like to sell the 22'. however, i am not sure of the year it was made. it was sold to me as a '79, but the hull number is 5798 and from what little i know about hull numbers, it must be older than that. since i know there got to be many people with more knowledge than me on this, please throw me a line. i dont want to missrepresent this boat to a potential buyer...thankyou...jc

Last 2 digits of your hull number give you the year made.

You should find this # under the starboard side transom rubrail, its hard to see sometimes. Then refer to the link to find your boat. It looks to be a 1976 rather than a 1979
