How much paint?

Picked up a Hunter 23. Did a top to bottom refurb over the winter now that I have gotten to the bottom and see how much bottom paint and anti-fowl costs. Can anyone give me an idea how much to buy? It will be in salt water for the season so i want to do it right.

1 gal should do get a stock color so you can go back for quart for touch up

The long answer is: A typical gallon of bottom paint usually covers 400 sq feet, depending on type of paint, how it is applied, and the keel configuration. The basic formula for figuring the area you need to cover is:
LWL x MaxBeam x.85
The shorter answer is buy a gallon. Paint the bottom, then put another coat on the waterline, rudder and leading edges of the keel. You'll have a bit of paint left over. Go sailing.
