How Much Fabric?

We're reupholstering all the interior cushions on our 1985 Catalina 36 with Sunbrella fabric. I was hoping to buy the fabric online BEFORE lugging all the cushions off the boat and over to the upholsterer - to minimize the amount of time we have a boat with nothing to sit on. But I'm not sure how many yards of fabric to buy -- has anyone done this for a Catalina 36, and could you share how many yards of fabric you used?

We'll be using canvas for the tops of the cushions, and using vinyl for the bottoms. So if anyone has a breakdown of both, it would be MUCH appreciated.

Thanks!

Look to the experts.

We did our own re-upholstery and it required replacing the foam. Since my wife was well versed in sewing, knew how to calulate the yardage and had the equipment it was a 40 hour job.
I don't think anyone will have the figures you need and without inspecting the old items it is impossible to give even a good guess. Are the cushions/foam worth recovering? Are the sippers any good? New ones are cheaper than the old ones. etc. etc.
Your best bet would be to have a pro give you a ballpark price. Then after you catch your breath you might rethink the scope of the project or hopefully you will find it within your means to have it done.
You might advertise in local papers for the job and find it cheaper if you find someone like my wife that would do it as a side job. If you do this then ask to see previous work and don't front money other than for materials and then you should buy that youself.
