How much does cat 22 wiegh??

I need to know if my f150 bumper hitch will haul a cat 22. How much does the sailboat weigh??

If it is older it may be 2500 lbs, newer 2300 lbs, and add the trailer of variable weight to 1000 lbs also. Then add the contents and liquids on the boat eg motor and water. The think about he placement of it relative to the axle and the trailer tongue. Your hitch should be able to tow 3500 with 225-350 lbs tongue weight. If it is too little the trailer may whip, too much and it affect steering the truck quite a bit. Some things to consider, anyways.

John,I would agree with the all-up weight of a C-22 on the trailer at around 3500#. Tongue weight is a critical piece of the puzzle...10% of the load weight is a good guide.There is a good discussion of towing a trailerable sailboat on the C-22 Association site...see the link.I tow my older C-22, which I've heard weighs less than newer models by a couple hundred pounds, with an Isuzu Rodeo 5 speed 4x4 with a 4.2L engine.
