Steve,
I haven't noticed any responses to this query of yours, so I thought I'd
chime in as the list moderator. You didn't say how exactly you'd "use"
the info, so may I suggest a little matter of etiquette (I work in
publishing, where people frequently use the ideas of others). It's
always safe to put ideas and information completely in your own words
and, to be fair, admit you got the information from another Vega owner
who wrote it in to the e-mail list. (This list is by definition public,
since anyone can join, but it's still the polite thing to do to
acknowledge info that comes from others.) However, I would suggest not
using anyone's name, and not using any of the posted photos or other
documents, without first contacting that person directly to request
permission. That keeps everything above-board and should make everyone
happy.
We look forward to seeing your web site when it's up!
Thanks,
Tom Lochhaas

Thanks, Tom.

Your advice was pretty much what I was looking for.

Basically, I wanted to use some of the tech data aboutthe Vega, as well as some of the brochure-type photos. I figure I'd reference the Vega group on Yahoo as a source to cover my butt. As for member's photos and personal stories posted to the AlbinVega group site, I wasn't planning on using them without permission.

As for what I am doing, I'm putting together a web site on the Vega, and a few other boats that I like or would like to have, such as the Cheoy Lee 35, Halberg-Rassy Mistral 33,, and Crealock 34.

As soon as I get the site up and running, I'll broadcast an announcement to the group so that everyone can check it out and, perhaps, give their comments.

Cheers,
Steve

Hi Steve

If you need any technical info then the CD from the VAGB or American Vega Club is full of about 300MB of data. More than happy for you to use it.

Hi

I think it probably is but quite a bit has been added with technical bits
and bobs. Chuck should have the latest version, if not then let me know and
I will update the information from this side of the pond.

If you need the latest version then let me know Chuck.

Hi Guys,

Steve(DeMont) I'll send you a copy of the AVA CD. BTW, would you like to switch your regular newlsetter subscription to CD instead of paper? Let me know. I'll send you the CD when I get back to Honolulu.

Aloha,

Chuck

Aloha Ka'kou

To tell the truth, I haven't compared them. I'm sure there is some duplication but there is surely plenty of valuable stuff on each of them that is unique. Since I am now offering members the option of receiving the newsletter on the CD (each new volume containing a complete update) there is no additional cost for the latest info if you switch your subscription to CD.

A hui ho

Mort (And everyone)

I'm on the road on business so I'm not on line as much as usual. The hotel I am in right now has internet hookups in the rooms but i'll be moving to another hotel tomorrow, then again on the 22nd and yet again, finally, on the 24th to Port Browning Marina at N. Pender Island where I doubt I'll be able to check email until I get back to Honolulu. Most likely, after tomorrow I'll be out of touch until I get back home.

I responded to all email today.

Aloha,

Chuck
