Thanks, Tom.
Your advice was pretty much what I was looking for.
Basically, I wanted to use some of the tech data aboutthe Vega, as well as some of the brochure-type photos. I figure I'd reference the Vega group on Yahoo as a source to cover my butt. As for member's photos and personal stories posted to the AlbinVega group site, I wasn't planning on using them without permission.
As for what I am doing, I'm putting together a web site on the Vega, and a few other boats that I like or would like to have, such as the Cheoy Lee 35, Halberg-Rassy Mistral 33,, and Crealock 34.
As soon as I get the site up and running, I'll broadcast an announcement to the group so that everyone can check it out and, perhaps, give their comments.
Cheers,
Steve

Steve,
I haven't noticed any responses to this query of yours, so I thought I'd
chime in as the list moderator. You didn't say how exactly you'd "use"
the info, so may I suggest a little matter of etiquette (I work in
publishing, where people frequently use the ideas of others). It's
always safe to put ideas and information completely in your own words
and, to be fair, admit you got the information from another Vega owner
who wrote it in to the e-mail list. (This list is by definition public,
since anyone can join, but it's still the polite thing to do to
acknowledge info that comes from others.) However, I would suggest not
using anyone's name, and not using any of the posted photos or other
documents, without first contacting that person directly to request
permission. That keeps everything above-board and should make everyone
happy.
We look forward to seeing your web site when it's up!
Thanks,
Tom Lochhaas
