Today's midday low tide for Seattle? Minus 4.1 feet, a record I believe. Good for digging clams. Good for running aground! :( Gary Wyngarden S/V Wanderlust H37.5

Three times and counting for me...

Snohomish River mud shoal (not paying attention), Entrance to Roche Harbor (wrong turn into mud) and Newfoundland Channel at Nanaimo (too close to reef, no boat damage). Terry

Terry, are you still keeping count?

Man, if you aren't running aground, cruising in the northwest, then you aren't 'out there'. :) Gotta go, what to see that tide,,,

I am the king of the grounders.

I learned it from my first instructor. In a race, he wouldn't tack until he ran out of water and touched bottom. And when cruising, one day in the Bahamas, I must have hit bottom 30 times. OK Terry, I fessed up. But now I've got that forward scaning sonar. I haven't hit with that on. Besides, if I did, I sure wouldn't tell anybody. :)
