How long should it take for a hull to dry?

Due to reasons beyond my control ($), I am going to have to store my boat on the shore when my moorage expires next month. The good news is it will be in a boatyard 5 minutes from my house instead of it's present location 1 hour away. I want to make the best of the situation by getting as much work done on the boat as I can while it's out. I'm going to start by stripped the bottom and letting the hull dry (it's been in the water year round for at least 4 years, likely more).How long should I let the hull dry after I strip it and before I put on a barrier coat? 1 month?, 2?, 6?Thanks;Paul1974 Catalina 27Vancouver, BC

Hey Paul,If you are having it sand blasted then you will be able to tell, I just did mine last spring, as the airtemp rises you will see the sweat and moisture comming out.Be sure to let it dry! I would take everything out of the inside side compartments and let it dry from the inside and the out, you need to make sure you bilge is completely dry too. The last thing you want to do is "trap" any more moisture under the barrier coat. You should have plenty of other work to do on it for 3-4 weeks of drying time.
