Rich's post about anchor chain got me thinking about this. We have 30ish feet of chain then 200+ feet 3 strand rode. The chain rode package came with the boat when we bought her 6 years ago so I have not idea how old it is. It's still in good shape (not fraying and no broken strands) but I'm not sure what else to look for to make me need to replace it. I do have a second anchor with an identical rode/chain package. 90% of our anchoring is in sand.
