It takes me almost an hour to get the mast rigged. I think this is too long I'm doing something wrong. How long does it take others?

Same Here

It takes me about the same amount of time Bill. However, that is down from the 1 and half it took when I first bought the boat. I'd be very interested to know some ticks to speed up the process.

30 to 45 minutes

We usually take 30 to 45 minutes. I have heard that some guys in California are making a video of mast raising in 14 min! I'd rather take my time and get it done right.

Not Quite that bad

for reference purposes, I have a 1988 version. I've got it down to under 20 minutes from the time I pull into the parking lot to boat in the water filling the ballast tank. By the time I get the trailer parked the tank is full enough to cast off. I've got a rouitine down that really seems to work for me. Drop me a note if you want the details. e28i@hotmail.com

Close to an hour

Close to an hour from arrival in the parking lot to being in the water is typical, but that includes dealing with roller-furled genoa on forestay, putting wind indicator on mast, screwing in VHF antenna & attaching stern light, undoing zealous application of bungee cords & lines, getting ice chest, misc. gear aboard, undoing sail & tiller covers, attaching main sheet, and waiting a few minutes for a spot at the ramp....even with the added weight of the genoa and furler, raising the mast isn't so much the hard part, it's the dozens of other things that we need to remember to do.
