How high up the mast to put a radome?

I am installing a Raymarine 18" radome on my H306 mast. Any suggestions on how high and why? Any other input on this effort? Thanks

Height

On our 290 (same as 306), we installed just above the first set of spreaders. We did it with the mast down, so effort was minimal.Dan Jonas (S/V Feije II)

Spreader Seat

Locate the mount just below the first spreaders. That way you can have a seat for access to the unit for wiring and service.

Above the spreader

The previous writer has a good point, but it seems that above the spreader would be better, then you can stand or sit on the spreader and work up rather than down. No need to put the thing up near the top because you really need to see things that are close very well more than things out at the horizon.
