The displacement figures on the brochure or owners manual is "dry weight" which means no fuel, no water, no boat stuff. Look around at anything inside the boat that did not come from factory and add the weight. There will probably be 10-15 gallons of water trapped in the stringers below the sole. Old boats gain weight. You could probably be closer to 10,500 lbs.

So your saying there is 300-800 pounds of junk and water on the boat? sounds like how many marbles are in the jar kind of fun . you might be right its in a not so great neighbor hood at a truck yard and looks like some one had been sleeping in it wile it was sitting there. had a foot of water in it till the owner found out and sucked most of it out only a little water in the area that covers the keel but plenty of garbage on shelves and stuff all of it is coming out before the move.

No, just saying there might be. How little will depend on how much you remove. For towing purposes the weight of the cradle will need to added. The area that covers the keel is the bilge and you can only see the small amount of water that sits in it but there will be much more trapped between the hull stringers. Being in a truck yard should facilitate securing a tow. What is the boat sitting on now?
