How do remove the upper shrouds from the ends of the spreader? My thought was to unscrew the upper part of the turn buckle and pull it through the end of the spreader. I haven't looked closely at the end of the spreader yet. Thanks again for your help

On the 23.5, there's a set screw at the spreader end which allows you to remove the end cap and free the shroud.

Kind regards

Are you replacing them?

lb,

It's been a while since I owned my H23, so I don't recall the actual attachment system... but I do recall that I never removed them for trailering or storage. Unless you're replacing them, you shouldn't have to take them off.

When I pulled my boat out of the water, I would remove the lowers from their attachment slots and coil them neatly on deck (secured with velcro straps); the uppers I would leave in place, and just hook to a bungee cord around the slack in the stays at one end and attached to a mast cleat at the other, just to keep them from getting tangled or sliding around on deck. I trailered the boat thousands of miles that way, with no problems.

I have never removed mine from the spreaders, I do more or less what Jon suggested. If you must remove them, say to replace the shrouds, I suppose (assuming there is no way to remove the u-bolt that holds them to the spreader) you could use the removable fittings like a Hayn, and thread the wire through the u before you attach the fitting.
