.. I found that a squirt of CP in the shower sumps of my 40.5 works to get rid of hair, soap and smell. The sumps always have some residue since the outlet is high on the hull. It evaporates in about a week. Great stuff. Rick D.
In the area just behind the main bilge, you should install a separate dedicated shower sump. I haven't installed one there yet but plan to. Up until now we usually use what we call the shower on the back porch. It is a little too cool out now to shower on the stern.
Chris, I have a 35.5 and had the same problem. Installed a shower sump box and connected the shower drain, ice box drain and A/C drain to it. In my case, I spliced the output into the bilge pumpout hose along with a one way valve. When the bilge is wet, I have a leak somewhere.Jim
