I have the original mesh-covered cushions on my Hunter 42. They were once white and now are various shades of dingy brown. Some look like they are vinyl coated and are okay while others (the ones kept in the sun) are cracking. Is there anyway to clean or revitalize the closed cell foam? We also could not get the mesh covers back to white even after using a light blend of clorox.

I think I used

I cleaned mine 4-6 weeks ago, and I they came fairly clean. Mine were also brown around the edges. I had several cleaners I was using, but I think that it was the Slimy Grimy that did the best job. It is available as a powder and mixed with hot water as needed. Works out to about $5 per gallon of useable solution. The powder is about $25 for a container that makes 5 gallons of mix. In the past I have used Soft Scrub w/bleach and found that it wasn't very effective. Soft Scrub w/bleach was what my cleaner at my dealer recommended. However, the Soft Scrub IS good for the cockpit sole that gets ground in dirt. I use Slimy Grimy primarily for the brown waterline stain that I get in my river. It just melts it off! Rich
