The centerboard pendant on my 1983 O’Day 22 is frayed and needs to be replaced. I have put the boat on jacks and dropped the center board about 2 feet to find the connection. The pendant goes into a hole at bottom trailing edge and there is no apparent way to replace the pendant. There must be a side hole on the CB where the pendant is pulled out and slip knotted. It has been sealed over and I can’t find it. Has anybody done this? Does anybody have any idea of where to look? Is there a drawing available of the centerboard that shows the hole?

You can use the old pendant line as a messenger line for the new. I used 2 lengthwise strips of electrical tape to butt splice the lines together, then wrapped a spiral wrap around for security - but only one layer so that it would still be flexible. Pulled the old one out the top, and the new one followed right along.

I did what Brian described. Worked fine.

I do this earlier this year. Tried the tape and pull through method, broke off 1/2 way lost both ends. Solution, took off molding and tube ran a wire coat hanger up hooked it and brought it down. Check with Rudy on the line size. the suggested size was narrower than the original equipment however I do not recall the proper size. I do know that it doesn't get stuck up as often as it used to.
