You are faster than I am. I've been trying to figure out what a sticky is for more than 10 minutes and am still in the dark. Does it have a name? Is the link in color with an underline? I'm not very good at generic references, and need to know specifically the image to look for. Maybe I'm just a bit slow. LOL
Thanks, Geohan

A sticky is a post deemed informative/important enough by the site administrators, so it'll stay at the top of the forum, usually.

If the image you want to upload is on your computer, you'll need to know a bit about the path to take in order to get to your photo from where the uploader might start you off. For instance, the uploader usually starts me off at the folder "Firefox", so I have to go up to drive C, then Windows- Desktop- Pictures. HTH

Sticky has the same general reference as does "press any key" . I DON"T HAVE AN "ANYKEY"

Thanks, Justsomeguy, now I've got the idea of stickies which in this case are the two subjects in bright bold red print at the top of this forum. I 'm ok now on step one! Step two is eluding me as I can't find a link that I can associate with posting of pictures in either sticky. Maybe I'm blind also. LOL. Geohan

If you want to post them in a forum click on the Go Advanced button below, scroll down and click on the upload photos box below. A box will pop up with options of uploading. Pick ware you want the pictures to come from. Don't forget to click upload before you post or it won't work. Then click on Submit Reply, Ta Da.
If your mast looks like this then your in the same boat as me.

Perhaps you're using the "reply (quick) ", instead of "reply (w/ quote)" button?

That will somewhat limit your options. Where are the photos you're looking to post? On your computer's hard drive, from the web, or elsewhere?

Use the Reply w/quote button, then look down below the dialogue box for : Whoa... don't forget this stuff, it's important! Under that heading, you'll see an "Attach Files", with an Upload Photos or Files Here button. Click the button, and the file uploader should appear.

The pic below is the best use for a small mushroom anchor I could find...!

Thanks again. Justsomeguy. I think I'm gaining on it but I can't play anymore just now. Can hardly wait to try your suggestions when I can log on again.
Cheers, Geohan

Sorry guys. I'm an IT nerd who has been using forums for many years.

I made the same mistake the first time I took a boat load of students on a sailing lesson.

"Grab the main halyard and cast off the bow line" was met with blank looks. That was 30 years ago and my young self was surprised everybody didn't grow up knowing these terms.

I will point out that the word "Sticky" is clearly listed at the beginning of the title in this case, and you were able to locate it :D

A topic that dose not move within a forum is a "sticky" topic. It is stuck in place, often with a picture of a tack. This is a setting that only forum administrators have the authority to set on a topic/thread.

Truth to tell: Bigjer40 had just posted his new topic, and seeing "how do I post a pic" right under "how to post a pic" was just too much for me, and the devil won.

It's been about a week, now. Have you learned how to post a photo yet? :)

What happens is that a "Hunter owner" only goes to the Hunter portion of the site.

I've often suggested that people use this method of seeing all posts to avoid this kind of thing, and they can see more posts and learn more from doing so.

Stu's post reminded me of something. I use the mobile app all of the time. The All Discussions From All Forums tab opens but there are no posts. Anyone else have this problem?? How is it corrected?

BTW, if you don't have the mobile app, get it! It's one of the greatest resources out there and I use it constantly when doing work on my boat (and when I'm supposed to be doing work at work!).

Posting Pics

Justsomeguy

My procrastination has been due to just being chicken. Finally, I tried again today but couldn't get the pic out of Photobucket! The only pic I could retrieve had to do with model railroading. Even finally tried logging in to photobucket but had forgotten my password. Well their password retrieval process is a bucket of ----, netting me nothing in three tries.
I really do appreciate your help even if I can't seem to get up to where I can use it. So I'm going to give it a rest until I can get my grandson here to walk me through the process.
Thanks again, Geohan
