Monday night i had my mac anchored about 60' from my grandparents boat house. The weather for the week called to be clear no rain and just a breeze. But little did I know that at around 5 o'clock the winds would be gusting up to 50 mph!!!!! so much for the anchor ropes, so much for the dock line, so much for the fenders. The port anchor rope snapped the starboard anchor just couldnt hold the load on its own the boat was pushed into the dock. The lake was a little low so the deck was underneath the dock which proceeded to bust a hole in the deck and give the rub-rail a nice little wave design. Now the question is how do i patch a hole on the deck, and get the rub-rail back to normal. I can see the settees from the deck AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Without pictures, it is difficult to assess what is needed. However while you will get a lot of good advice from this form; I would recommend a trip to the book store or library and get a good book on major fiberglass repair. I have seem those that give you pretty much a step by step description of how it is done.

west marine has some pretty good documents,,,

- I found something on you tube:

more: http://adventure.howstuffworks.com/how-to-maintain-a-boat1.htm

you said deck right...really need some pics...

but get it out of the water and start the drying process. (cover and maybe add some heat (lightbulb inside is good)

if you exposed the plywood deck, then you need to also patch that too.

this may help:

pls post some good pic of the damage.

btw, your anchor(s) should have held if you have a big enough anchor, chain and scope.

Sometime the line will fray and break, but just dragging is avoidable... (had you known the storm was comming, I'm guessing you would have been ok.)

maybe take a pic of the anchors and rode too?
