How do H27s race against other similar boats?

I owned a UK Hunter 27 - fractional rig, lightly built. I was very impressed with how it went. Now just in US and am thinking of a US Hnter 27. Can anyone advise how they get on against Catalina 27s and the like in club racing? Hopefully yours Patrick

I'm not sure that the European H-27 is the same boat as we have in the States. If it is, you'll find that it’s faster than the Cat-27. Most of the Hunters are surprisingly fast boats though a very few percent of them are raced. Once the boat is set up to race, it is very competitive. I just can't figure why so few ever get raced.
