I haven't seen any coverage of how the sailing community on the Gulf side of Florida made out from Hurricane Charley. Granted, loss of life and property certainly take a higher priority (and our thoughts and prayers), but the area hardest hit is on a list in the new issue of Sail magazine as one of the most supportive in the U.S. of sailing. Anything to report?

A buddy, of mine did ok.

He kept his boat behind his house tied across the canal and put some extra lines out. One of his friends tried anchoring his out and it wound up on the beach. He had some damage to his carport and that was it. He's headed to volunteer with the red cross today to try and help those less fortunate than him. he has a irwin 37 and not a scratch on it. Oh yeah and the boat yards by eljobean

Are a wreck, imagine dominos. He said almost every boat in the yard was on it's side or on top of a powerboat. If you are leaving eljobean and heading towards punta gorda that is where the boat yards are he was telling me about.
