A foss new rudder for a hunter 40.5 is about 3500 + shipping.... mine had small blisters, poked them and eventually, all the vinager and "All" the skin came off. About 350.00 in kevlar cloth and epoxy resin and it is still sound.....
How can you tell the rudder delamination is serious

My surveyor noted some (approx one sq ft) delamination on our rudder 10 years ago when I bought the boat. I check it every year at haulout and it has never worsened. This isn't to say it could be a problem but if the core is dry and solid with no weeping evident, it may be that watchful waiting is appropriate.
