How can I check which year my Mac was built

I am intending to buy a used 26x which is which is sold as a year 2000 boat. Does anybody know how I can confirm the date built besides the original purchase bill, is there any identification plates on board with serial numbers that would confirm the year?

Last two number of HIN

On my X, the last two numbers of the HIN are the year of manufacture. I think this is standard, but can't be absolutely sure. The HIN plate is just to starboard of the motor on the stern.
