How best to maintain light water-based varnish?

We have a new 34MkII on its way to us, and with the light water-based varnish that is used for the teak, what is the best product to keep it looking good? We've had someone tell us to use tung oil, another Murphy's Oil Soap, another lemon oil, and another that new Orange Glo. Sikkens had been used on our current 28MkII before we acquired it, and it seemed thick and sticky and dirty all the time. Want to start out right the first time with the new boat - any help appreciated. MS

Varnish maintenance

Since you have not gotten a response yet, I will chip in. I have a fairly new Catalina with the water based varnished interior. I really don't think it is necessary or beneficial to put any thing on a varnished surface. Just clean if necessary with a very mild soap solution and rinse. Having said that, I think my interior came with a fairly thin varnish layer, and I soon plan to add additional coats. I just haven't decided whether I should do a light sanding first. The varnish used by Catalina is Oxford Satin by Target coatings
