I guess I overfilled my fuel tank with diesel at the end of last season.

With the warmer weather the diesel expanded and some came out of the breather thruhull and spilled on the gelcoat that I am busy reconditioning (following Maine Sail's recommendations).

Some of the gelcoat in question has been wet sanded the other wet sanded and compounded. None of it has had Presta Cutting Creme treatment or wax.

Any and all thoughts, advice and/or experience would be much appreciated.

Many thanks.

wash it with soap and water.... then wipe it with Laquer thinner a couple times throughout the day.
its not a serious matter as diesel is only a less refined "mineral spirits", which is paint thinner.... mineral spirits are used in the formulation of the cutting compound you are using...
