I just bought a S295 that needs a lot of work. I want to install a 6Gal. water heater and would like to know a good spot for it?

29.5 water heater

A waterheater came stock in my 1985 29.5 It is located in the very rear of the boat on the starboard side. If I lift the the pilot seat it is right there against the bulkhead that divides the rear berth. I think that water heater is located here because the exhaust water from the engine heat exchanger raps around the water heater to heat the water while the engine is running. Let me know if I can provide any further info. Icould take a picture and send it to you.

Location

You want the heater to be near the engine, as low as possible, and as close to the centerline of the boat as possible.

Fit

When you check the fit, if it is too tight, remember you can remove the insulation from the tank and then reinstall it after the tank is installed. This allowed us to get a six gallon heater into a tight space in the back storage area of our boat. Also we really like the Whale brand pipes and fittings which are color coded for hot and cold lines.
