Where is the hot water heater on the Cat 310 and what size is it?

There is an access panel in the aft berth. Sizes vary but some owners reported a 20 gal heater - way oversized for that size boat.

yes, stbd side behind panel in aft berth. Very early hulls had 20 gal tank, but my 2003 #218 has 6 gal. tank

Why would you want to heat hot water?

You will actually need to cool the hot water instead of heating the hot water after running the engine for a while. Consider installing a mixing valve to prevent scalding.

We removed the factory 20 gal heater with a 6 gal version and gained lots of storage space in the starboard cockpit locker.

I just did a 6 gal ....... just what the doctor ordered. The 11 was a little to big for our use.
