Hooking up new ST60 to old transducer

Hi,

I was pleased to find you wrote about doing just that at ( http://www.pbase.com/mainecruising/new_depth_old_transducer_ducer )

You say that the frequency needs to be the same so they can talk to each other. I looked up the factory info on the Standard Horizon ds45 depth sounder that came factory with my 1985 hunter 31 and it says its 203 +/- 1 mhz.

Do you think that's close enough to try?

The DS45 uses a standard Airmar 200kHz transducer..
