Installing an electric bilge pump in an O'Day 272LE. Had read a thread last week from several years ago wherein 2 different 272LE owners mentioned they tied their electric bilge pump into the existing hose assembly in the bilge for the manual pump. I did this to mine yesterday, and it did indeed work (w/ some leaks), still maintaining the integrity of the manual pump also, but having trouble finding proper fittings to hook the new bilge pump hose to the existing hose/fittings. If the 2 owners are still out there -- how did you do it? Did you still leave the strainer fitting on the end of the wire-reinforced hose? Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks - john-
