I recently acquired a 28’ 1976 Irwin that had been de-masted in a storm, the Sea Furl 2 Hood Yacht Systems furler was damaged. I have all the original parts and the original installing documentation. The lower Unit and the upper halyard swivel appear to be in good working order. I need to know if I can just replace the Aluminum extrusion pieces and the inner sleeve. I am working on a budget and I am just a pleasure sailor. Please direct with any replacement parts or services that anyone knows of.

I too have a Hood Seafurl 2. A rigger advised me to replace it recently. Pompanette, who now owns Hood, told me the only part they stock is the lower bearing. You are likely out of luck and need to shop for a new furler. You probably have to and should replace your fore stay at the same time. I was looking into it because I need to change my backstay. You can buy a good furler from CDI or a number of other vendors cheaply at the moment. Don't take the online prices at face value. By comparison shopping and calling vendors I was able to easily find furlers for $800-1200 for a 30 footer.
