I'm looking for a source for parts or a fix for a cracked part on my 1980's era Hood Stowaway mainsail furling system. This was a factory installed option on my Gulfstar 37, and still works fine, but the fitting (picture attached) that has indexes for a stop that allows reefing of the mainsail has a crack in it that I am worried will completely break and not allow me to reef the sail. If you look at the picture, you can see the crack running vertically..the part seems to be made of rubber or composite, with some other parts of metal inside. To use it, you use your winch handle to turn a set of bevel gears that rolls the vertically stored mainsail in or out.... Anybody got a source or idea about fixing this? I've tried rigrite, they did not have the part....someone on another board said I should try Hinkley....oh well, the part would probably be worth more than my boat..

My undertsanding is that Hood is

getting back into the business after years of questionable performance. I'd try Hood again.
