I have a single line Hood furler on my '93 Cat30 --- does anyone have instructions/diagram for changing the furling line? It appears that removing the three screws holding the housing to the base cylinder would allow it to drop to access the knot that holds the line to the furler -- hesitate to remove them with out being certain what else might come loose....

I replaced mine last year. There are three nylon screws that hold the shroud on. I used 60' of ultra low stretch line cored 20'. At least that is what Hood told me to use.

Thanks! I finally tracked down a manual from Pompanette. What dia line did you use? Assume you mean you stripped the core out of the first 20'?

Jimm,

The diameter line will be a personal preference. Most would say a larger diameter will be easier to handle (and on the hands). I used 5/16 and did not need to core any portion and am happy with the result. I would not go any smaller.
If you go larger (3/8), I believe you will have to core about 1/3rd...the portion that will wrap around the drum.
