Lots of shoals in the area. There is an E/W channel from the ICW south of Honeymoon I, and I suppose you could anchor off the south side. Better deal is turn south at the west end of the channel and go to Caladesi I State Park . Nice Marina, floating docks, walk to beach etc., 50 cents per foot as I recall.

No better marina park than Caladesi in MHO. It is worth a short term stay. Come and go at high tide. I draw 4 ft. and have hit at the Caladesi marker's entrance off of Honeymoon. Once you get in you will enjoy it. Honeymoon is a bit harder to get to as you must anchor and dingy in. http://www.floridastateparks.org/caladesiisland/

I too draw 4 feet. Will try getting in and out at high tide. Can't be worse than my visit to Cedar Key a couple years back.
