Hello all

I seem to be having a problem now with my outboard, I noticed what looks like an oil leek but am unable to find out where it is coming from..the oil pressure indicator light is on as it is supposed to be, but I get oil or maybe gas going into the water when the motor is started, yesterday the motor just shut off while I was heading out (lucky for me there was enough wind to get us away from the rocks :Liar: ), after that the motor started and worked fine.

any suggestion ..the motor is a 1991 Honda 7.5 HP 4 cycle long shaft....

I had that on a 7.5. The fuel pump diaphram leaked both ways, mixing oil/gas.

It is most like gas leaking from the top of the carb. On the Bf100 there is a small hose that runs from the top of the carb to the bottom of the compartment. If the gas is coming from there then you likely need to have your float adjusted. You can tell if when you squeeze the bulb on your gas line the gas drips from the bottom of your engine compartment. You might also want to check the fuel line running from your fuel pump to the carb.
