Have a H23 with a Honda 8 4-stroke - it has a connection from an alternator (I think). How do I connect it to the batteries (without reading the manual :+) ?

Mine

The dealer installed the connection for me on my H26 with the same motor. While I haven’t used it yet… He wired the plug directly to the battery switch, so you could charge one or the other batteries – or both. A word of caution, with the connector wired and not attached to the motor, that gives you a live current where it’s wet and near the fuel tank. I put a different wire “thru-hull” in so that I can push the excess wire from the connector back in when not in use. Also, you will want to know which is positive of course before connecting.

Thru Hull Plug

The origional owner of my H26 told me that the dealer installed a thru hull twist locking plug (30 amp shore tie plug) on the starboard side of the engine well. It's workes beautifully and makes it very easy to remove the engine from the transom for transport or storage. Drilling and cutting holes in the hull is a stressfull activity but it is a perminate installation. The wiring configuration is very simple but you should look at the manual. It's probably easier than reading the flowery prose of a well meaning illiterate like myself.
