Honda 9.9 missing one cylinder...???

My Honda 9.9 started runnign rough the other day, and as well, it started turning on it's own.. I've deduced that one of the cylinders is not firing, but don't know if it's a bad plug or spark wire or something else. I'm assuming that if one of the cylinders fires, the electronics must be okay.. anyone know if that;s correct? Also, anyone know where to get new spark wires for a 1980 honda 9.9? Thanks for any input.

Trouble shooting

Honda dealers will still have parts for your engine, believe it or not. They're so committed to supplying old parts they have on occasion hand crafted antique motorcycle parts for people who tried to order things they no longer had in stock! At no additional cost.I'd start with your plugs. When was the last time they were changed? Cheap and probably ought to be done in any event. If that doesn't do it trace the plug wires and make sure they are secure. If so, replace them. They are probably hardwired to the coils so you may want to have the engine serviced to have this done. Beyond that I would have the engine serviced unless you want to get a service manual and learn engine repair. No reason not to go that route but you'd want a good workspace and good tools.Jusitn
