I have a 1972 Oday 23 which has a notch in the transom for the outboard. I am using a 1972 Johnson 6hp 2 cycle which I am thinking of replacing with a new Honda 5 hp 4 cycle. Does anyone have a comment about using this engine?

2 cycle is the way to go....

Paul, after researching two and four cycle engines, I strongly believe that for our use, the lighter, more efficient, and cheaper two cycle is the way to go. Since we do not run our engine full time, the higher torque, lighter weight, and cheaper price make two cycles the best bang for your buck. I have a 9.9 hp nissan that has never missed a beat in six years. All i do is feed it a little gas.
best of luck
