Honda 2000 vs. Lincoln 140 welder

Need to weld at the boat and want to see if the honda has enough juice to run it.
Anyone done this??

Probably could handle the lower-lowest power settings, but not the full rated output.. Lincoln (the 140 I looked at) says it needs 2400 watts at its rated output, and the Honda 2000 can supply only 1600 watts.

No shore power? Make an adapter.

It also depends on what you are welding. Tubing and railings at 25 amps, no problem. 1/4-inch plate at 90 amps, different story.

Maybe borrow a 2nd Honda and parallel them or borrow a different generator.

Stick welder?

FYI Looks like Honda will be releasing a new suitcase generator. 3200 watts, only a little larger and 10lbs heavier than the 2000/2200.
