In another thread I mentioned that a friend of mine was building a canvas cover using a recently purchased Sailrite sewing machine. He has rebuilt my dodger, mainsail cover and bimini as well. Great friend that I owe much thanks to. Someone asked for a few pictures of the cover, so I thought I would provide them under a new topic rather than hijack the other thread. I'll try to get the person that built the cover on the thread in case there are questions or ideas.

That looks fantastic Rajhnsn. I would not consider it hijacking as the segment was on sewing. I would be interested in the material he used and the edging as I would like to make something like that in the future.

The canvas actually came from tarps that I bought second hand from a guy at a marina. He was planning to cover his new 40 plus Beneteau but got frustrated and went for shrink wrapping. The tarps were all 10 ounce treated canvas. It took three 14 x 16 and one 12 x 14 sheets. We built the edges out of extra strips that were made into colars to go around the stays. The boom is supported on the inside to distribute any extra weight. There is a bolt rope that goes around the bottom at the rub rail. We sinched that up in the back with a ratchet strap.
