I do most of my postings in the MacGregor site, but I wanted to share these pics taken on a recent overnighter in my other boat. Holter Lake is a reservoir on the Missouri between Helena and Great Falls It consists of an upper and lower lake with 16 miles of dammed river canyon seperating the two. Not usually a great place to sail but we got lucky with a SW wind pushing us down canyon wing on wing at speeds of up to 7 mph. We made it to Mann Gulch, approximatley 4.5 miles from the Marina at the upper lake. At that point the canyon makes a jog to the west and the wind did some really crazy things. We beat our way back up canyon to find a campsite. The next day the wind had shifted to the NE and blew us right back out of the canyon wing on wing again. We tacked our way to the upper end of the lake and back to the marina, 17.5 miles total for the two days.
