What can anyone tell me about the two small 1/4" holes in the rear of the kee just above the bulb?
That hollow area is intended to be filled with water to eliminate the buoyant force created if it didn't. Why would the marina fill the holes in especially if they have no clue what their purpose is?We don't worry too much about freezing here in Texas. When the marina painted the bottom they filled them it - how would water get into the hollow area otherwise?
I don't know of any holes that were ever cut in to a lead keel, surely not to counter act buoyancy.
Fore sail 1; is this regarding a h40.5? The bulb wing is not even close to the stub, nothing hollow at the bulb wing..
Note that the 2 holes on either side which the OP refers to are in the hollow keel STUB, not the keel. Your 376 is a different underwater design.
