hole in transom

While admiring photos of your boats, I noticed a flanged hole in the transoms of some 21s. Found out it was the cockpit drain.

In my 21 the cockpit drain is a through-the-hull fitting directly under the forward end of the cockpit and supports a shut-off valve. How many boats were built this way?

The setup is reasonably easy to service/repair.

The pix was taken looking forward from inside the starboard cockpit locker.

I wonder why they did not put the through hull in the keel trunk? The top of the trunk is above the water line. I think we have the change narrowed down to between hull #3 and #190.
