Pinhole in bottom. Approx. 10 teaspoons per hour! In center of boat directly below centerboard winch. Can it be fixed easily? Any reccommendations? Or should I junk the boat? Guessing the cause may have been the centerboard hitting it sometime in past? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance! John

Easy fix

If it is truly a pin hole it can be fixed with epoxy or this great stuff called "Marine-tex" It is a 2 part mixture like epoxy and is easy to use. However, my suggestion is tht you find out how the leak developed. Is this new, or have you had the problem for a while? Did you just buy the boat? I suppose that over time and several hard groundings (or one sustained grounding in waves) the fiberglass could develop some small holes. I would be suspicious of the condition of the centerboard trunk. If I were you I would do some investagating to find the source first. Then look at how to not only repair the damage but solve the problem to keeep it form reoccuring. Good luck let me know how it goes Art <)))><

Junk the boat & tell me where!

Just kidding. Hay John, I would have to agree with Art. I have found Marine-tex in Auto/Boat parts store's in Bayboro, Orientel & Sourth Port. It's great stuff. If you have a hard time finding it I will be coming thru New Burn tomorrow AM (07 03 03)going to Orientel. I have a bunch on the boat in Arapaho. Let me know if you need soom. We can hook up and I give you soom. sheets@ncssm.edu Long weekend on the water/ no leaks good. -frank-
