Hi All,

I have noticed hole in my keel of Hunter 25 2008 ( Shoal Keel) pictures attached, is that standard or I have just noticed it I have owned the boat for 3 years and havent seen it before while am doing the routine Antifouling, I have attached couple of picture for reference, the boat never ran aground and the location of the hole seems odd to me, the inside is very rigid and dry, if its not normal whats the best way to approach it and close it using which material ?

appreciate your support,

Could be a weep hole used when the boat is on the hard. Allows trace water to escape so it does not freeze in the keel and do damage. Should be filled before launch each season with a bung and painted over

Not a weep hole. It looks like something hit it. How deep is the open hole? Former dealer
I'm thinking that if something hit it, the paint around the impact point would be chipped. In this case the paint is ... painted.:confused:

In a curvature on the bottom of the keel is a small void. Fill it with two part epoxy and sand smooth. Apply several coats of epoxy barrier. If you do not have any, spray some paint designed for plastic only. Let dry and then lightly sand for anti fouling paint to adhere to

@rgranger

I thought it was a small void generally in a curve where the fiberglass was not rolled down with a resin roller during manufacture and it was. Learned something new?
