Installing a Holding Tank
I am the President and former fleet captain of the Barnet Sailing Cooperative. We have 4 Catalina 27s, soon to be 5, in our fleet. We installed holding tanks in each of our boats over the last couple of years. The Catalina 27 has a custom molded 20 gallon holding tank available from Catalina Direct (http://www.catalinadirect.com/index1.html). The part is not shown on their web, but a phone call or email will get you your information. The cost is way less than trying to find a generic tank (about $65) and it fits perfect under the v-berth between the aft bulkhead and the storage well.You have to cut the fibreglass from the starboard side access to the storage area under the v-berth in order to install it.
