I believe my holding tank has been cracked by pumping into it when the vent hose was blocked or possibly at pump out. The hose is clear, but it appears the stanchion it connects to is blocked. Has anyone had this problem? How does the stanchion release air and how can it be cleared? It is, of course, in a very hard area to access.
Thanks...John

The vent hose is usually over clamped to the hollow bolt of the stanchion, the hose is too big and it's a weak connection. Topside, on the inward side of the stanchion are two small holes toward the base, if you put your ear near when pumping out you should hear air being sucked in.

Ted...Thanks for the reply. I found the holes on the stanchion. On my boat they are on the outside, but at least I knew what to look for. Trying to remove the hoses. Got the one from the head to the tank off. Took two hours between cutting the hose and the wires. It will probably take that long to remove it from the head fitting. Hoping the one to the maceraror will be easier...John
